AL CONSOLI
DIRECTOR OF INSTRUCTION

I am a native of Reading, Pennsylvania and thanks to my grandfather’s desire to one day have a golfing buddy, I received my first golf lesson at age 8. I played throughout my

youth and received several scholarship offers to play in college, however my sole focus was to pursue a career in medicine. I began my collegiate career at the University of

Notre Dame and later received my B.S. in Biology from American University. I went on to enroll in the Masters program at New York Medical College and later attended Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001.

Realizing that my passions lie elsewhere, I made the transition into the golf business in 2003 finding work at Sunningdale Country Club for PGA Head Golf Professional and Golf Digest Top 100 Instructor Michael Breed. I continued furthering my professional career by attaining assistant golf professional positions at some of the most elite clubs in the New York Metropolitan area, including my first full time teaching position at Westchester Country Club. I proudly attained my PGA membership in 2010 and have had the honor of being mentored by 6 of the current Top 100 Teachers in the United

States. I became a certified Plane Truth Instructor in 2012, the organization founded by World Golf Teachers Hall of Fame member Jim Hardy.

I moved to Texas in 2013 and over a seven year period I served as the Head Golf Professional at Willow Creek Golf Club, Teaching Professional/Lead Club Fitter at the Tournament Course at the Woodlands Country Club, Director of Instruction at Sweetwater Country Club, and Director of Player Development at Gleneagles Country Club. In 2020 I received an offer to relocate to St. Augustine, Florida and assume the role as the PGA Director of Instruction at St. Johns Golf and Country Club and establish a golf academy and player development programming for the facility. After 18 years in the golf business, learning from the elite leaders in the profession, teaching at some of the premier facilities in the country, the ultimate opportunity to return to my foundation presented itself, and I did not hesitate at the proposition of representing my original mentor as the Lead Instructor for the Michael Breed Golf Academy.

Welcome 2023 and welcome Greenwich, Connecticut, the new home of the Michael Breed Golf Academy at the Rock Pile Golf Club. My 20 year journey in the golf industry has afforded me this incredible opportunity to become your PGA Head Golf Professional and to communicate Michael's knowledge and teaching philosophies as his Director of Instruction. I consider this dual title my finest professional honor, and I look forward to helping golfers of all abilities acquire the information and understanding necessary to exceed their individual golfing goals in 2023 and beyond.
